ANCESTRAL WISDOM OF THE KAMENSTA FIRST NATION, AMAZON, COLOMBIA

Mama Concha, yagécera and curandera from the Kamentsa community of Sibundoy, practices healing with ancestral yagé medicine and medicinal plants from the Amazon. Her parents were Maima and Taita, and she has been drinking medicine since childhood and giving it for many years.

Now based in the Kamentsa reserve of Mocoa, where she has her maloca, or yagé ceremonial house, Mama Concha is sought after for her gift of healing with plants. Her treatments for the uterus, prostate, and many other ailments are renowned in the healing community of Putumayo and beyond Colombia’s borders. As Mama Concha says, “it is possible to heal everything with faith.” Mama Concha offers profound healing medicine for the body, mind, spirit, and spirit.
